Brief initial

Brief issu du premier workshop à Nantes : « Concevoir des vêtements de travail confortables et élégants qui sensibilisent discrètement au handicap, des habits qui accompagnent le quotidien tant en milieu professionnel qu’en extérieur. Ils s’adaptent aux différentes postures, températures et activités, intègrent harmonieusement les aides médicales dans une garde‑robe quotidienne vibrante, et empouvoirent les porteurs grâce à un design réfléchi et sur‑mesure qui favorise confiance et autonomie. »

Concepts proposés lors de l’atelier à Nantes

• Un gilet pour faire du vélo, style casual chic : blazer modulaire avec manches amovibles se transformant en gilet pour le cyclisme ou pour se rafraîchir. Sa structure légère soutient la posture sans restreindre les mouvements. Confectionné à partir de fibres naturelles respirantes avec des finitions douces afin d’éviter les irritations, et doublé d’un subtil imprimé zèbre en clin d’œil à l’identité neurodivergente.

• Ceinture & poches pour transporter ses affaires : ceinture de marin conçue avec des baleines flexibles, elle aide à stabiliser la taille et le bas du dos, soutenant la posture sans inconfort. Ajustable en longueur et adaptable, elle répond aux besoins du corps (ex. ballonnements ou mouvements) avec aisance. Des cordons intégrés en orange vif ou blanc offrent des points d’attache pour les essentiels du quotidien : étui à médicaments, bouchons d’oreilles, etc.

Courte description du prototype

Veste mi‑saison sur‑mesure pour le quotidien, en laine bouillie. Adaptée au cyclisme, elle comporte une ceinture et des poches avec système d'attaches pour transporter les accessoires indispensables. Dos allongé pour s’asseoir confortablement, manches larges pour un mouvement fluide, fermeture avant à double boutonnage avec boutons et ceinture de soutien pour la posture/la perception du corps.

Entretien

• Elle nous a montré deux vestes qu’elle utilise beaucoup et qui possèdent des caractéristiques importantes
• Elle nous a présenté son vélo afin de mieux appréhender la position et le siège avec le dossier

Choix des matériaux

• Sélection des matériaux et ordre d’utilisation
• Lors du choix du matériau, Bergamotte l’a sélectionné elle‑même afin de pouvoir l’essayer directement sur sa peau

Réalisation du prototype

• Premier prototype d’une capuche avec tissu test trouvé au fablab, aussi similaire que possible au feutre
• Évaluation : peu pratique car il ne s’ajustait pas bien au torse, les manches étaient trop larges et peu utiles pour protéger du froid en cyclisme, trop court à l’arrière ; cette inspiration ne correspondait pas à sa demande initiale, qui nécessitait un soutien au niveau de la poitrine et une longueur suffisante
• Deuxième prototype avec le même tissu : inspiré du kimono, pour resserrer la zone poitrine avec une ceinture tout en conservant l’idée de manches larges de l’inspiration initiale
• Nous avons allongé le bas du dos afin que le tissu couvre le siège
• Nous avons élargi les épaules, qui étaient trop étroites et l’empêchaient de les lever à la bonne hauteur pour le guidon avant et sur les côtés lorsqu’elle devait signaler un virage à droite ou à gauche
• Les manches étant trop larges, après les avoir testées avec elle et réflexion sur le problème, nous avons convenu ensemble que les manches larges n’étaient pas une nécessité, et nous avons décidé de réaliser une manche plus étroite sans devoir trouver une solution de fermeture pour les protéger du vent avec des boutons‑pression
• Finalisation du prototype avec ceinture, tests sur Bergamotte
• Ajout du col
• Réalisation de deux œillets latéraux pour la ceinture à la bonne position
• Positionnement des boutons à vérifier sur le tissu original afin de mieux comprendre le placement
• Réalisation de plusieurs prototypes de poches à rabat de style français

It adapts to different postures, temperatures, and activities, seamlessly integrates medical aids into a vibrant everyday wardrobe, and empowers wearers through thoughtful, tailored design that fosters confidence and independence."

Concepts proposed in the workshop in Nantes

• A vest to ride bicycle, casual chic style : Modular blazer with removable sleeves transforms into a gilet for cycling or heat relief. Its light structure supports posture without restricting movement. Made from breathable natural fibers with soft finishes to prevent irritation, and lined with subtle zebra print as a nod to neurodivergent identity.

• Belt & pockets to carry stuffs around : Sailor’s belt is designed with flexible boning, it helps stabilize the waist and lower back, supporting posture without discomfort. Adjustable in lenght and adaptable, it responds to her body’s needs (e.g., bloating or movement) with ease. Integrated cords in bold orange or white offer attachment points for everyday essentials: case for medication, earplugs etc.

Short description of the prototype

Day‑to‑day tailored mid‑season jacket in boiled wool. Suitable for cycling, it features a belt and pockets with hook system for carrying essential accessories. Longer back for comfortable seating, wide sleeves for fluid movement, double‑breasted front closure with buttons and supporting belt for posture/body perception.

The project instructions, steps by steps

Making the prototype

• First prototype of a hood with test fabric found at the fablab, as similar as possible to felt
• Evaluation : impractical because it did not fit the torso well, the sleeves were too wide and not very useful for protecting against the cold while cycling, too short at the back; this inspiration was not suitable for her initial request, which required support in the chest area and sufficient length
• Second prototype with the same fabric : kimono‑inspired, to tighten the chest area with a belt and maintain the idea of wide sleeves from the initial inspiration
• We lengthened the lower back to allow the fabric to cover the seat
• We widened the shoulders, which were too narrow and prevented her from raising them to the correct height for the handlebars in front and to the sides when she needed to signal when turning right or left
• The sleeves were too wide, so after testing them with her and reflecting on the issue, we decided together that wide sleeves were not a necessity for her, and we decided to make a narrower sleeve without having to find a solution to close them to protect her from the wind with clip buttons
• Finalisation of prototype with belt, with tests on Bergamotte
• We added the collar
• Made two side button‑holes for the belt in the correct position
